Giandomenico Caprioli

Chef Gianni Caprioli grew up on a small farm in Southern Italy surrounded by cooks and opened his first restaurant at 19. Before moving to Hong Kong in 2004, he was private chef to Fiat owner Gianni Agnelli.
Today, he leads The Giando Group, including Giando Italian Restaurant & Bar, Mercato Gourmet (five stores), MANGIO ready-to-eat brand, Cotto & Crudo, Giá Trattoria Italiana, Dedica, and Locanda Canali.
Awards: Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy (2021); Giando ranked among World's 50 Best Italian Restaurants 2025 (top 12); Gambero Rosso's Tre Bicchieri 2024.
With over 30 years in Italian gastronomy, he continues bringing authentic Italian dining to Hong Kong.
